Are Nazi Germany and the Gestapo Coming to America?

The Latest Trigger Event

The leaked Dobbs decision, followed by the published decision, has brought a chorus singing a most likely tune with glee. Their first stanza teaches us that it would be un-American to charge doctors for criminal prosecution if they perform abortions. Stanza two swings to the other extreme and heralds prosecuting everyday Americans who exercise their free speech rights to protest abortions or engage in on-the-street counseling to abandon abortion in favor of the lie outside abortion clinics. The third stanza completes the disharmony as we hear our President, a Catholic and leader of the free world, pledge to see that no doctor is charged with a crime and that no woman is forced to carry a child to term who does not desire to do so by putting the full force of the federal government behind his declaration.

An Example of the Force

And, just what does that “full force of the federal government look like?” Consider this real incident. There was an early morning raid several weeks ago by two dozen armed FBI agents at the heavily Catholic populated of Pennsylvania at the home of Mark Houck, a pro-life activist, father of seven, and president of a Catholic men’s ministry. Houck’s wife told a news outlet, “The kids were all just screaming. It was all just very scary and traumatic.” She continued: “They had big, huge rifles pointed at Mark and pointed at me and kind of pointed throughout the house.”¹

The History Lesson of the Force

Most of my readers are too young to remember newspaper reports and movie newsreels of Nazi Germany. Few times do we ever see the classic movies of WWII that depicted the unjust and brutal acts of the Gestapo. Some fifty years after that war and there have even been attempts to deny the Holocaust. All that is very unfortunate. It promotes forgetting history from which we should learn. The FBI and the DOJ would be far more ruthless than the Gestapo with the modern communications available to them. Hear me carefully. I am not accusing the FBI of Gestapo-like activity. I am pointing out two things.

How Might We Mimic Nazi German?

One is the possibility of very quickly converting this organization into such a force. The FBI, backed by the DOJ has virtually absolute power. More than ever, absolute power absolutely corrupts.

Two, the moral construct that provided the foundation and the framework for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is quickly crumbling. All we need is an earthquake to shatter that foundation and framework. That earthquake is imminent as the Rousseauian Social Contract aided Marxism economics and Critical Theories of race and sex deconstruct the minds of an increasing array of American University professors and politicians.

Third, the general population has already been so infiltrated with the psychology of self that it is beyond vulnerable to desiring the benefits of such deconstruction. This is obvious in how less than 10% (that is generous) population has ceased control of the nation as evidenced in the mutilation of children in the name of gender dysphoria, the increasing willingness to move towards acceptance of “minor-attracted sex,” the acceptance of fifty-five genders, and a suing for the right to engage in sex with animals.

So, What Is Next?

How long before the earthquake? That all depends upon the church being salt (deterrent) and light, with the gospel as the answer. The Bible is the foundation, the one under the American foundation. Either the church stands up and becomes the immovable object, or the church², as we know it, and the nation will be lost. Oh, the physical nation will survive, but America, the freest and most prosperous nation will be gutted of her spiritual power, her heartbeat for the everyday citizen, and the semblance of righteousness will be gone. The rule of law will deteriorate into the will of man imposed at will. The value of human life both those in the womb and the senior citizen will become ever less respected. Marriage will dissolve into common-law relationships. A politico-wealthy class of diminishing numbers will become the ruling body of oligarchs, the rule of a few. We will look more and more like Russia. Folks like George Soros, Bill Gates, and Bernie Sanders will fill those slots. Something like the Yeltsin-era privatization under Anatoly Chubais, who led to the growth of the oligarchs could be expected.

What Is Are Christian Response?

In my first year in college, I wrote my mother and informed her that I had become a pestoptimist. Several weeks later in a monthly phone call, she told me she had searched high and low and could not find this word, “Please tell me what it means,” she said, with a bit of trepidation in her voice. I explained that I was pessimistic about the future of our country (65 years ago), but optimistic about life because I knew Jesus and I read the end of the book and I know He wins. I told her that I had conjoined pessimist and optimist to create a word to express what I had come to understand.

That was true sixty-five years ago in the height of the building Viet Nam era, it was true in Afghanistan, and it is true today in the middle of the morass of stupidity currently reigning in Washington and some state capitals today. Is there a possibility of a short-term turnaround? Absolutely. God is in control, and we will not implode any sooner than God has ordained. But that does not relieve us of the responsibility to be SALT and LIGHT.

Consider These Passages and Consider the Underlying Principle

Psalm 94:22-23, But the LORD has been my stronghold, and my God is my rock of refuge. 23He will bring upon them their own iniquity and destroy them for their wickedness. The LORD our God will destroy them.

Genesis 19:15, At daybreak the angels hurried Lot along, saying, “Get up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.”

Esther 7:10, So they hanged Haman on the gallows he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the fury of the king subsided.

Psalm 7:8, Put an end to the evil of the wicked, but establish the righteous, O righteous God who searches hearts and minds.

Psalm 34:21, Evil will slay the wicked, and the haters of the righteous will be condemned

Psalm 12:3, The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things:

And finally, this old stand-by that is well-worn, but never worn out, II Chronicles 7:14: 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land

And the clincher: Revelation 19:11-16 says, Revelation 19:11-16, “I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice, he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. ‘He will rule them with an iron scepter.’ He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh, he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

NOW! There Is Hope!

The Hope of all hopes! And there is the motivation to be SALT and LIGHT. And there is the motivation to rejoice in the Lord, and again I say rejoice. Every Gestapo will be destroyed!
